(A4 Looseleaf)
More and more organizations are discovering the power of NLP as a tool for communication, managing change and improving performance. When it comes to training, though, the chief handicap has always been a dearth of suitable material.
Roy Johnson’s manual provides a reliable and comprehensive collection of ready-to-use training sessions covering the whole range of NLP applications. They are suitable for use at all levels and cover the skills of self-management, relationship-building and influencing that can be applied to key management activities such as appraisal, coaching, interviewing, meetings, motivation, negotiating, planning, presentations, selling and writing. There is an index to help trainers identify the most appropriate activities for their particular needs.
Each activity is self-contained. They can be used as an adjunct to existing programmes or to construct integrated courses of various lengths. The types of session are varied so as to appeal to a variety of learning styles. As with all Gower training manuals, each activity includes detailed guidance for the trainer, together with masters of all the material required by the participants and observers.
This is a resource that will be warmly welcomed by any trainer looking for a fresh approach to improving communication skills.

Business Applications of NLP
Authors: Roy Johnson and John Eaton
30 Activities for Training
Since its emergence in the 1970s, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) has come to be accepted as a powerful aid to communication, learning and change management. But although it is now part of the repertoire of most business trainers, there is still a dearth of material designed for running NLP-based courses.
In 1996 Roy Johnson produced 40 Activities for Training with NLP and it was an immediate success. Now, with co-author John Eaton, he has compiled a companion volume that focuses on key factors in organizational performance such as decision making, influencing, leadership, managing conflict, meetings, motivation, and teambuilding.
As with 40 Activities, each activity is presented in a standard sequence incorporating objectives, timing, group size, relevant applications and resources required. There is a step-by-step guide for the trainer, supported by review questions and ready-to-copy masters for all handouts and OHP transparencies. Although each activity is self-contained, the authors suggest ways of linking them to related activities, and at the end of the manual they provide model programmes for ten different courses of varying lengths.
Anyone involved in business training, or the use of NLP in business, whether as in-house trainer or independent consultant/provider, will find Business Applications of NLP a rich storehouse of ideas and materials.
