Magic Paper - Single Sheet Magic Paper (Single Sheet)
magicsingle

e-mail this product to a friend

In a bid to stock the most environmentally friendly products available we have now sourced an alternative to the ever-popular "Magic Whiteboard".

"Magic Paper" is similar but we really feel it is more practical for continued re-use as it wipes clean without wrinkling and clings with such strength that it doesn't even flinch when hit by our "Splats" - believe it, we've experimented.

This product comes in single sheets that you smooth onto the wall, write on, wipe clean, write on again and again, then simply peel off the wall and put away for your next session. It leaves no residue and saves waste - with nothing to throw away - unlike a traditional flip chart.

"It's MAGIC! Can be re-used HUNDREDS of times".

What is Magic Paper?

Magic Paper is a unique product.

Magic paper is made up of many layers of polypropylene and voids filled with gas and charged with electricity. The construction makes it possible for the permanent electric charge to stay inside the film. The electric field contained in Magic Paper produces an adhesion force, which creates an adhesion force with the most common types of surfaces - wall, window, wood and stone. This process should not be confused with a static charge; it is a totally different process. The process of introducing the electrical charge into Magic Paper is a proprietary process.

Previous technology used a charge which is only on the surface of the film. The old technology lacks the major features of Magic Paper i.e. level of magnetism, the adhesive charge is one fourth, the paper cannot be printed and it loses its adhesive power within a short period of time, it is not suitable to be hung on walls more than once, cannot be used as posters, etc.

After initial decrease in adhesion force just after the production, the adhesion force of Magic Paper remains relatively constant for long periods of time after the product has been delivered to a customer. In field tests, periods of adhesion of more than five years have been observed.

Magic Paper is recyclable as Polypropylene (PP) is a polymor containing carbon (C) and hydrogen (H), When Polypropylene is burned, heat, water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2) is produced. No toxic gases are released in the burning process.

The grade of Polypropylene used to contain some titanium oxide, which is used to enhance the whiteness of PP, and hence, to increase the resistance of the Magic Paper to UV-light.

Magic Paper uses standard Polypropylene (PP), the following physical properties apply:
  • Temperature limits: HIGH 107C and LOW -57C
  • Melting temperatures 170C
Resistance to:
  • Strong acids - excellent
  • Strong alkalis - excellent
  • Grease and oils - good to excellent
  • Organic solvents - good
  • High relative humidity - excellent
  • Sunlight - fair to good
The recommended highest usage temperature for Magic Paper for longer periods of time is 60C.

Bought 5 sheets of this to use during my course facilitation. The organisations I work for love it because I don't put marks on there conference walls with blue tac. Delegates like it because it means I can put it up where it is most convenient in the room rather than where the flip chart stands are. One of the sheets has ended up in my daughters room for her to draw on! The only thing to be aware of is where the edges of the paper are especially when you are erasing. I have removed a sheet from the wall to find a nice black edge on the wall where erasing marks have not stayed on the paper. Sp I have now drawn a border in permanent pen to stop this happening. This is invaluable for any freelance trainer or anyone that travels with their job. It saves on space, having too find flip chart stands and weight.

My colleague and I used this for the first time and were delighted with it. We will certainly be using this in future as it allowed us to expand diagrams on the one sheet (it’s 2m long) which is much better than having several flip chart sheet taped together.

Magic paper is a fantastic addition to any Trainer's kit. I always have some with me in case the flip chart (and/or paper) isn't available at the training location. Delegates also love the fact that they can erase and re-write any group work created on it. Magic paper works best when it can be erased within a few hours of it being written on. I also use it as a daily 'to-do' list in my office...and any actions left for a day or so can leave an indentation on the paper that can shorten its life.....on the plus side though, it does encourage me to complete all actions on the day I create them :-)

This paper is indeed magic – it sticks to any surface with no damage to surface and easy to remove after use.  It is very easy to write on and can be easily wiped clean.  There is no need for the use of blue tack and therefore keeps the training walls clean and fresh.

Have had external trainers ask me where i got them from!.  Managers want to use them in meetings. Great for the trainer to use if the sheet stays in one place, however not very portable when asking delegates to take a sheet away and write on it.  Also have to be careful when erasing the pen off if the sheet is on a non wipeable surface not to let the eraser touch the surface as pen marks come off!

Fab stuff - will never buy a flip chart again! And... it's a great talking point amongst delegates. Everyone but me seems to have seen it on Dragon's Den I would recommend the eraser too! One word of advice. If you're using it on a wall do take care when wiping it clean. I was a bit ehthusiastic the first time and "painted" the wall with a dirty eraser!

...is fab! My order has just arrived and I've spent the last half hour drawing on it just for the pleasure of erasing it!! I've stuck it on every possible surface to test it out and it's passed every test. All our Team Managers want one so that's Christmas sorted for me. Love it, love it!!!

The other product I would like to review is the magic paper I bought this some time ago and put it at the side of my desk and forgot about it. There it stood in its brown tube until recently I remembered and took it with me to a training session. How have I ever done my job with this paper its amazing I took blue tack with me but no it stays on the wall by itself. This really is the best thing since sliced bread. I have been asked over and over where I got this from its so good I have had to order more for people around the company.

I recently purchased the wipe clean paper which is a great tool for training. Wipe boards are often very expensive and not always available for use. I used this yesterday in an exercise around team building which I am working with one of our newer teams. They had to write down where they think there team is at, where they want to be and what they want to start doing. I was able to put the paper up on the wall and have everyone write something each, wipe clean and then move on to the next bit. When I had finished I was able to roll up the paper and hide it safely in my office. Great tool which I am sure will be used to death!
