This CD-ROM takes you through a journey into the world of learning. Starting in the United Kingdom's first National Park, you will be taken into the cafés of the University and into the lecture theatres. You can imagine yourself alongside other students as they complete tasks and discuss issues. You can navigate your way around by using the GPS finder screen.
There are text files, video clips, tasks to complete and one-to-one tutorials that will introduce models and concepts. They are all designed to help you develop and master your learning skills: writing introductions, conclusions, literature reviews and the development of critical and creative thinking, and higher 'levels' of thought.
You will be asked to consider and understand issues such as where and when you learn and what mental states you are in at the time, and you will be shown a session called 'coffee and papers' where mood setting and relaxation are important to learning. Watch the kite surfers too - it will help you understand that studying is about highs and lows. The art of Mastering University is what this CD-ROM is all about – try it! |
