Interviewer, The
Sheffield Hallam University Enterprises Ltd
The personal interview is used by many organisations to select graduate recruits and placement students. But no university or college has the resources to offer every student repeated opportunities to practise their interview technique.
With this in mind, Sheffield Hallam University has developed this multimedia software to enable students to practise these important skills of self-presentation as realistically as possible, and at very low cost. It also helps students who lack the confidence to perform in real or simulated interviews and who need some private space to develop their approach and their skills.
The software works by presenting you, the user, with a wide range of interview situations and a choice of interviewer. It then takes you through the chosen interview and videos your responses via a webcam. These can be reviewed and re-recorded as many times as required.
The Interviewer gives students:
• opportunities to practice their responses to real interview questions, as often as they like • a non-threatening environment to develop their skills • the opportunity to review and reflect upon their own performance • additional feedback and guidance presented on screen or as printed handouts • flexible use, either as a stand-alone resource or as part of a course or module on career planning. |
