I love these pens! I just hope my delegates don't steal them. Good variety of colours to liven up boring flip charts. Love them! Not cheap but definitely worth it. Love love love them!

My students loved these scented marker pens. It was great to see the expression on everyone’s faces as they started to write names on student name plates and the realisation the pens were scented. The group enjoyed guessing the aromas at the start of the programme and it was brilliant to see the pens being passed around in order for people to discuss the scent. Many commented the pens reminded them of past experiences and were happy to discuss these, they were an instant icebreaker. The marker pens were used throughout the day by the group during customer service training. An element of the programme discussed Representational Systems and how information is processed through our senses, I was able to relate to the VAKOG model more effectively with the help of these marker pens. Everyone commented on their favourite scent and indeed colour, the pens allow for a more dazzling flipchart presentation and do not have the nauseous aroma of conventional marker pens. I would rate these pens 5 out of 5, they are fantastic.

"Your smelly pens and blindfold made the perfect items for our training icebreaker. It was fun to guess the aromas at the start of a recent mind-map exercise! Many commented that it reminded them of smelly erasers during childhood! I would give these pens a very smelly 4 out of 5 (smelly in a good way!!). Next purchase - the handbell game!"

As well as the obvious (they are good marker pens with an array of colours) these also have other benefits in training sessions. I can’t count how many times people have made mention to them and in a recent session someone asked why I wasn’t using them. It doesn’t add to the learning but can be used as a nice interlude or talking point.

These pens are fantastic. Aside from the lovely smells, the huge range of colours are great for flip chart work and information recall (especially for those that favour visual learning). Also, these pens do not go through flipchart paper so will not mark walls or other pages.

As a very experienced facilitator who is lucky enough to work at all levels of public sector and independent sector organisations- I am aware of the power of good facilitation support materials that appeal to the senses. Like most of people I still get nervous when faced with a group of very senior professionals (I like to think it keeps me on my toes) whose body language indicates they are perhaps not all totally enthralled with the plans (always theirs) for the day. At a recent event I was working with group of very senior medical consultants and each table had a good collection of Mr Sketch pens. After a staid start I noticed one group member pick up and play with a pen. He then nudged a colleague who did the same and I could see the creep around the table until six very senior professional men were all smelling the pens and nudging each other. I then made deliberate eye contact at which they all burst our laughing and other curious group members who asked what was happening then joined in . An icebreaker in every sense of the word and we had a outcome focussed day which went really well.

The pens have gone down a treat. They were used for a team visioning piece, and created an icebreaker at first with the participants smelling the pens and comparing, stating which ones they liked and disliked. This continued throughout the activity and encouraged engagement and held interest.

They allow much brighter flipchart presentations and don’t have the horrible spirit smell of normal markers. An added bonus is that getting people to guess the smell is a great ice breaker.

A great way to break the ice when delegates are assembling. I also used them recently on a course about learning to reinforce the point about smell / scent being a strong memory 'hook'.

I have never seen grown men get so excited over markers before! A great way to get participants excited about writing up flip charts, and to bring out their creativity with all the colours available.
