Animal Tile Puzzles

e-mail this product to a friend

These beautifully illustrated tile puzzles based on a “nature” theme are much more difficult to complete than they first seem. Each puzzle includes 19 hexagonal pieces, featuring fish, butterfly or lizard designs that must be matched “head-to-tail” in a characteristic honeycomb pattern.

We thought that these would be really good as an alternative to the mini jigsaws for using when running the Trainers’ Library exercise Jigsaw Race - A fun introduction to communication, and would also increase the difficulty level.

Each tile measures 8cm.

(Our training props are carefully selected for use by professional trainers, and are not suitable for children under 3).

This one I was a little disappointed with in that the tiles are quite small, I was kind of expecting something jumbo/giant as it is used for training but I was still pleased with the overall product. We plan to use these in games done in pairs as energisers. We originally planned to use one set per 6 delegates but since the tiles are rather small at 7cm wide for a hexagon we’ll have to do them in pairs and just order a few more sets. Thank goodness for next-day delivery!

I love the high quality of these little tiles in a box. The puzzle looks deceptively easy - but I'm still trying to get the tiles in the right order three days later! Another pocket sized secret weapon for filling those awkward gaps on a training course.

Excellent! I’d read the reviews before buying these and couldn’t see how this straightforward puzzle could be as demanding as people said. However, having tried these myself and used them in a couple of sessions, it can be quite a demanding task to complete the puzzles. I used these to kick off a personality profiling session to demonstrate how different types of people approach a task. It worked really well in this concept and it was interesting to see how different people approached the task and this made a great talking point.

OMG - how addicted am I to this game!!! I almost have a nervous twitch trying to get it to work!!! Haven't used this in a training exercise yet, though can see its potential. What's important to me however is being able to do it myself (and perhaps also to show the more doubting Thomases!) to prove that it can indeed be done!! Being given the answers inside the box would've been a God send. I bought two of the puzzles - the lizards and the fishes and can't do either of them! If anyone has the answer, or can send me a photograph of it or feedback on how you used it, I'll be so grateful - sally@strength2strength.co.uk. (would've been a definite 5/5 if the answers had been included!)

I've been searching for a puzzle like this for ages - exactly what I needed thank you. Great for making distracted delegates focus and for enabling me to appeal to different learning styles

This puzzle is fantastic for illustrating how Lean works in an organisation. You "can" fit the pieces together any old way - but the "work won't work". Instead, get them flowing and the whole system is optimised. Great for systems thinking concepts.

These are excellent, they look really easy and could be completed fairly quickly however, they are a real test and a great prop for team building.
