Mr Sketch Scented Flipchart Markers are great. Not only are the colours vibrant but, as the name suggests, each pen has a different smell. Your participants will have great fun trying to identify the smells – they’re sure to break the ice and get them talking.

Colours included are black, red, blue, green, pink, turquoise, yellow, orange, brown, purple, dark green, magenta, pale pink, lavender, pale yellow, peach, pale blue, pale green.

I introduce these scented pens when I am delivering induction courses as a form of icebreaker; I associate a topic of conversation to each colour (i.e. hobbies, previous job, favourite film, etc) without sharing it with the class and then I get each delegate to pick up a pen and then I reveal the flipchart with the associated topics. I then get each delegate to try and guess the scent of their pen. Even the shyest people find it easy to start a conversation about the "smelly pens" (as they call them!). It is also great as an accelerating learning technique as they wind it easier to remember things associated with the different scents. Money well spent!!

Excellent value for money - less than £1 per pen for members of Trainer's Library. Good quality and the range of colours in the pack gives you plenty of opportunity to liven up your flip charts. Obviously the 'pastel' shades are a little more difficult to see on white paper - but who is still only using white paper anyway?? ;-) Smell great, work great, a great addition to your tool kit!

These pens are great! The first pack I purchased was 12 pens and I loved them, so this time round I invested in the 18 pack which include a lovely array of pastel colours. Using loads of colour is such an easy way of making flipcharts interesting - well worth the outlay!

These pens are fantastic and will make training memorable for delegates. I still remember going on a train the trainer course with Chris Shiller from CIPD and I thought he was God because he gave each delegate a smelly pen as a gift at the end of the course!!!
