"Pressure Plates!!" is an activity involving planning, communication and teamwork at speed. It has a real physical element to it that teams enjoy and has the added advantage of being able to run it indoors or out depending on your circumstances.

 

The team is provided with a series of numbered "plates" and given 5 timed attempts at a specific task. The activity has to be completed in a shorter time on each attempt. All team members are engaged in planning the task but not all take part. "Wide Angle!!" is a challenge involving planning, strategy communication and teamwork. It requires a great deal of thought, a good memory, and fabulous communication skills. It's great for teams that don't always work together, or who need to work on their communication.

 

The team has to plan how they will retrieve information from a jumbled set of provided props placed indoors or outdoors. They must work collaboratively to understand the sequence of the information and put it in the right order. The sequence isn't immediately obvious, but there is a right answer provided! The information is positioned away from the team, and the team must nominate "visitors" to examine the props and bring information back to the "control room". Communication restrictions are out on the team when they are apart, and they can only communicate effectively when they are together, much like a "virtual team" in real life.
